4 ways you can start building your yoga brand without a website

You’ve probably heard the saying “don’t put all your eggs in one basket.” This is especially true when it comes to building a website. There are many different yoga websites out there, and you don’t want to be just another one amidst a sea of others. You want people to remember your yoga brand as soon as they hear the word yoga! In this blog, I’ll share how to build your yoga brand before you launch your website so that you can stand out from other yoga teachers on the internet.

Now I know Instagram can be a tough space to stand out, especially for newer yoga teachers. But there are a few key ways for you to begin inviting in engagement, awareness, and sharing your story around what you’re doing and why.

You gotta remember that you’re not trying to get EVERYONE’s attention on Instagram… just the people who most need what you’re offering. I’ve found that going in with that mindset genuinely attracts attention and grows your dream audience. Keep talking to them, and they will listen.

Here are my top methods for how to brand yourself using Instagram:

Get Clarity On Your Yoga Brand

Getting clarity on who you are as a Yoga Teacher, what you do, and who you do it for are the key components to creating an Instagram account that will help you stand out. Tap into what you’re passionate about teaching and who you really love to teach. When you understand who your ideal student is, it makes your profile much more appealing to that person. I share all the ins and outs of building the foundation of your brand in this guide. Remember, people have very short attention spans, and even more so on Instagram, so bringing in colors and an aesthetic that you love will help make you more memorable and increase your visibility.

What To Post?

Everything you post on Instagram should have a purpose behind it, never just post for the sake of posting. I use the KLT method to ensure that my posts have a goal and will add value to my scroller.

The KLT Framework

  • Know
  • Like
  • Trust

This is most likely the first time people are connecting with you and your brand, so before they even think of buying from you they need to get to know you first. So invite them in. Share parts of who you are and set yourself up as a thought leader in your Insta community. But err with caution here, be mindful in how they get to know you, I see too many teachers posting about their classes and the benefits of yoga and not meeting their audience where they’re at. Keep sharing value with no expectation of anything in return and serve your audience. When you serve, you earn the right to sell.

Create Content That Connects

Building a yoga brand means infusing a personality into your yoga offerings. It means sprinkling your own awesomeness onto each and every piece of content you create so that you stand out from the crowd. The easiest and best way to do this is to reframe yourself as more than just a yogi. When you share other interests and parts of yourself, you are inviting your audience to get to connect with you in more ways than just yoga.

Check how @yogi_bryan does this so well, by serving his audience with comedy and yoga tips. He has meshes his personality into his entire feed, in a way and very quickly you know if you’re in the right place. Remember, connection is the key to Instagram because even if your audience is not ready to practice with you yet, they will still follow and engage with you based on common interests that you may share. Don’t be afraid to let people into your world in different ways.

Captions Count

Think of your caption as copy that you would find on your yoga website. Since you may not have a website yet, you’ll want to share more about who you are, what you do, and who you create for, kinda like a mini About Page – by the way, About Pages are one of the most clicked pages on any website!

To really write captions that count and move the needle forward in your business, you need to write in a way that helps your ideal student feel like they’re in the right place. That you understand their challenges and are ready to help offer solutions. Each caption should hook them in, encourage them to read more, and offer some way that they can explore this topic with you further.

Include a Call to Action

Make this your posting mantra: I will include a call-to-action in every post. This is a way that you can invite more connection with your audience. Think about it, one of the main reasons you have a website is so that people can connect and contact you? So if you don’t have a website yet, you gotta get more intentional about how people can get in touch with you. You can invite your audience to DM you or if you have a business account, email you via the button in your Instagram bio making it much easier to get in touch. Check out this post to see how I reach out to my audience for a DM without being over salesy so that I can increase my engagement.

Ok, there you go lovely, these are a couple of ways to start building your yoga brand on Instagram without a yoga website. These tips will help you build a beautiful relationship with your audience so that they get familiar with what your yoga brand offers. Now you’ve got what you need to start building your yoga brand with or without your website.
