Design a unique yoga logo in 5 easy steps
You’ve done the groundwork.
You’ve identified your Ideal student (tick)
You’ve completed your Mission statement (tick).
Now you’re getting ready to take on the next step, creating a unique logo for your yoga business – a huge milestone as a yoga teacher. Every yoga teacher needs a logo unique to them, regardless of whether you’re a veteran or just starting out. For better or worse, there are a million other yoga teachers out there, and for this reason alone you’ll need a logo for your website, blog, and social media pages – Facebook and Instagram.
Why else do yoga teachers need a logo?
1. Makes a great first impression
If designed well, it will entice your ideal students to roam around your website or your social media page
2. Makes you look professional
Your logo tells your ideal students that your website, your social media, your emails etc… are professional and you are knowledgeable and qualified in the subject at hand
3. Builds brand recognition
As part of your brand, your logo will help you stand out in your niche and build recognition among your ideal students
4. Creates a brand identity
Your logo is the foundation of your brand, it will help you build an emotional connection with your ideal students that turns them into loyal readers.
5 easy steps to design your unique yoga logo
1. Think about your students
This is probably the most important step in your yoga marketing process. Consider your niche – your design needs to resonate with your ideal students for it to be effective.
Now think about who your ideal student is for this topic. Prompt some ideas and ask yourself questions about them:
- What are their hobbies?
- Where do they live?
- Where do they shop?
Why is this relevant? The more you know, the more you can tailor your logo to their preferences so it resonates with them more. 2. Choose your brand colors
Colors convey a certain set of emotions to your students. Each color has its own “personality” and influences the way your students subconsciously feel or think about something specific. For example, red inspires passion and energy, while blue inspires trust, power and reliability. Google color psychology before deciding on your logo’s color palette.
And also make sure your colors complement your website to create something beautiful!
3. Choose your font
Your choice in font depends on the nature of your style of teaching, for example big, funky display fonts wouldn’t be appropriate for a yoga teacher teaching gentle slow flow. However, if you teach Bikram or a power Vinyasa class, then boisterous lettering is a good choice.
Also keep in mind that your font needs to be legible, and some of the more creative ones tend to be trickier to read.
Before moving onto step 4, look at your color and font choices to make sure it reflects your yoga teaching style.
4. Bring your idea to life with Canva
Canva is my personal favorite design app because it is so user friendly! It comes with all the branding tools you need to create a logo and a brand identity.
